Nine people have been arrested along with 14 lakh Indian rupees in Mahottaribat.
Those arrested are Jitendra Kumar Singh, 43, Sushil Sah, 40, Dhiraj Mandal, 19, Jilani Ansari, 32, Akwar Ansari, 34, Ramekwal Mandal, 56, of Jaleshwar Municipality 3. Similarly, 34-year-old Saroj Kumar Sah of Jaleshwar Municipality 2, 27-year-old Anand Kumar and Bharat Bihar, 33-year-old Jitendra Kumar Mahato of Motihari district Mothliiya Harsiddi police station 3, Mahoti police spokesman Santosh Kumar Pokhrelle gave information.
According to him, they were arrested while illegally counterfeiting Indian notes from Nepali notes at Maliwara Bazar, Jaleshwar Municipality, Mahottari. DAC Pokharel informed that banned Indian rupees 14 lakh 37 thousand 640 and Nepali rupees 82 thousand 205 were recovered from them.
According to the District Police Office, Mahottari, they will be sent to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathalaiya bara, for necessary action under the Foreign Regulation Act 2019.
